I was looking online for a different way to fix my cabbage.I came upon your recipe, and I wanted to let you know how delicious it is.My husband will be in for a treat today, when he gets home and settled down for dinner.I like my cabbage a little crunchy.I don't want to cook all the nutrition out of it.If you like your cabbage soft then you'll have to cook a few minutes longer.Great Recipe!

I guess you cook it 'uncovered' since it wasn't mentioned?
I hope it cooks thru that way... It's on the stove now...

The sweet and sour cabbage is great. We followed the instructions exactly except we added to the cooking time because we like the cabbage more tender.
The last ten minutes I put in a Polska Kielbasa and made a one pan meal.
Give this a try, I'll bet you will like it.

Found this recipe when I was looking to add a different taste to my cabbage. I had fried bacon and had no eggs for breakfast so I whipped out the cabbage and cut it into slivers (big shreds). I lightly fried the cabbage in the bacon grease and some olive oil then I simmered the cabbage until done, broke up the bacon into small pieces and then added the apple cider vinegar and sugar to taste. Then I let it carmalize. Was delicious! Thanks for a new way to fix my cabbage!

The browning/caramelizing created some nice flavors....an easy and overall tasty recipe. I would cut the vinegar down to 1/4 cup next time - a little too strong.
